We disrupt the balance of creativity when we focus on our craft? I don't follow. It seems to me that we disrupt the balance if we try to focus on a different craft, one that we haven't invested as much emotion into.

I used the word disrupt in a positive light. Rather, the emotional scale
tips towards our focus, taking it out of balance.
